Dust off your dancing wellies, Adstocktoberfest will be held in Adstockistan on Saturday 1st October. Historically Adstocktobefest has been held to coincide with the Autumn storms with bales protecting dodgy tents and marquees, but this year we will be fully waterproofed in Rural Ronnie’s our orchard barn.
We have 7 bands year, which means that the entertainment will be running throughout the day as well as evening.
Alongside the bands we will have the usual games available – hammerschlagen, Aunt Sally, Connect 4, Giant Jenga and an air rifle range run by Adstock’s resident Infantryman Mike Heason. As well as this On target Events are kindly providing:
Soft Archery for the under 7s
Food will be provided during the day in the form of a BBQ supplied by Dan Young’s Fire Food and there is the usual paella from Cracklin’ Fayre in the evening.
Beer, cider, wine and soft drinks are available throughout.
As usual there will be cider and apple juice pressing under the pergola and there will be demijohns with air locks and bottles for sale. Just a quick note on this, due to the dry year we’re having apples are ripening early – if you want to use our equipment before Adstocktoberfest, please get in contact.
The liqueur and cider will also be judged, so if you have made a concoction, please bring a sample along for our judges by 3.00 and the prize giving will be at 5.00.
Apart from the juice bottles, demijohns, festival mugs and the afternoon BBQ, this is a free event, but we ask you to give as generously as you can to Afghanaid. This amazing charity has been working in Afghanistan for 40 years through all the different iterations of government and regime and is dedicated to working with millions of deprived and excluded families in some of the poorest and most remote communities in Afghanistan. Now more than ever Afghanistan needs support from charities such as Afghanaid, not only because of the withdrawl of troops and international funds, but it is still in the grip of the worst drought in living memory, so please bring cash enjoy the event and give as much as you can to this brilliant, resilient charity.
