Thank you to everybody that turned up to a beautiful evening on the 23rd January for the Adstockistan Wassail. After a hiatus of 2 years it was back and bigger than it’s every been. Vicar Ros rekindled her role as High Priestess of Adstockistan, the Owlswick Morris dances turned up en masse and entertained us with not only their dancing, but an impressive array of musical instruments that they played beautifully.
Thank you also to the Buckinghamshire Beavers, Cubs and Scouts for taking the roles of the 12 disciples by the fire. We also had 2 very special guests all the way from Ambridge (one of them from self imposed financial exile in Ecuador) Felicity Finch (Ruth Archer) and Kim Durham (Matt Crawford), both long standing cast members of the Archers who read beautifully during the ceremony, a real honour to have them celebrate with us.
After the ceremony we were treated to some singing from the Adstock Singers and Ladstock who have been such amazing supporters of the orchard throughout the years.
The evening raised £400 for Adstockistan’s very own Ben Butler who will be running the London marathon in April for Afghanaid.
Thank you all!!
