In spite of Storm Isha our annual wassail went ahead, the only difference being is we did the majority from the safety of Rural Ronnie’s. This made the ceremony so much more inclusive and intimate – a perfect wet weather alternative. Thank you so much to the wonderful Adstock Singers for the music and Owlswick Morris for the dancing and a special thanks to Jane Bird for composing a beautiful song that she played on the pipes especially for the event called, “Adstock”. Thank you to the Great Horwood Beavers for being the 12 disciples and Nick Kelly and Richard Inman, our regular cider makers, for turning up as the green men and giving a very hearty Wassail. Again we were lucky enough to have our Archers, Felicity Finch and Kim Durham, again who added a real sense of theatre to the event, they are officially Adstockians now!
There was a fantastic atmosphere and everyone that came entered into the spirit and we ended up raising just shy of £400, so thank you all and Wassail to you!!
