Wassailing 2017

Wassailing 2017

January 11, 2017

A fantastic attendance again for Adstockistan’s 2nd Wassail despite a windy and somewhat gloomy evening. It was great to see the Owlswick Morris side once again and this years celebration was boosted by the wonderful voices of the Adstock Singers led by Lucy Bignall.

Ros the High Priestess of Adstockistan led the service in the orchard and Clan Knibbs hoisted the lanterns to represent the 12 disciples, the one representing Judas was blown out as planned but an over zealous Sal Grant saved him again speedy application of her survival lighter (Judas was the only one to stay alight last year!!).

Led by the lanterns, the Wassailers trooped back to the village hall to be warmed up mulled cider, more dancing and singing.

Thank you to all for attending and the continued support for the orchard and Afghanaid – we raised £224. A special thanks to Owlswick Morris for waving their fee in favour of the charity.
